Corey Smith is an experienced attorney with a focus on Taxation, Estate Planning, Business Planning, and Probate/Trust Administration. Corey began his legal career at the Idaho Office of the Attorney General, assigned to the Idaho Tax Commission, where he worked on issues related to individual and business income taxation, as well as income tax apportionment issues for multi-state entities. Since, Corey has gained valuable experience in law firms, as vice president of a financial institution, and as an accounting firm associate, specializing in Income and Sales Taxation for Limited Liability Companies, S-Corporations, C-Corporations, Non-Profit Organizations, and various Trusts. Laura Aschenbrener has a broad civil litigation practice with an emphasis on medical negligence defense, professional licensing defense, real estate, business, construction and commercial disputes at the trial and appellate level. She previously worked in the areas of criminal defense and child protection proceedings. After attending the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law, she returned home to Coeur d’Alene to serve the community she loves and enjoy the Inland Northwest with her family.
Nathan Ohler attended Wake Forest University School of Law with an emphasis on taxation and transactional law. His practice is focused on commercial transactions, business and corporate law, real estate, and civil litigation. Nathan has served as lead counsel in bench and jury trials in state and federal court and has an accomplished trial record.

Informed by this entrepreneurial experience, Jason’s practice focuses on the full range of business matters including formation, sale, management and governance, employment issues, real property and landlord-tenant matters, business contracts, and litigation. Jason also has experience navigating state and federal compliance requirements related to the production, packaging and sale of alcohol, administrative disputes ranging from land use matters before the Board of Commissioners to professional license matters before the Bureau of Occupational Licensing, and with creditor’s rights and the judicial and non-judicial foreclosure of real property.

Katharine Brereton has a practice focused on civil litigation with an emphasis on the representation of governmental entities, business entities, and insurance companies in employment matters in state and federal court, both at the trial and appellate levels. Along with this, Katharine has a proven track record of successfully defending clients in proceedings before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and reciprocal state agency.
Katharine advises and provides strategic support to private and public sector employers on a range of workplace matters including performance management, disciplinary decisions, terminations and separations, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), compliance with the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), due process procedures, and the proactive management of potential risks. She also assists clients with hiring, comprehensive training, employee handbooks, investigations, employment agreements, and separation agreements.
Katharine’s practice also includes civil rights and ski area defense litigation on matters involving personal injury, premises liability, and § 1983 constitutional claims. Katharine represents ski areas in Idaho and cities, counties, school districts, libraries, colleges and universities, and other state and local entities.
